The largest continuous sculpture in the world, The Descent of the Ganges, carved out of a single monolithic rock.

At the Pancha Rathas. When Hindus started building their temples from stone, instead of from wood and bamboo, they needed to adapt the earlier styles to the new material. This spot served as a kind of scratch pad for sculptors to try different ideas for this adaptation. In the process, they built five temples based on earlier wood designs, each carved from a single block of stone. They're all lined up in a row, in various stages of completion.
